Picturing Scotland: Dundee
Content: Dundee, Scotland's fourth city, stands on the north bank of the Firth of Tay. It has gone through many phases of prosperity and poverty through the years, but now a great resurgence is happening in Dundee – a £1billion waterfront transformation, an ambitious 30-year project that is propelling Dundee towards a sustainable future of innovation and progress, the heart of it being V&A Dundee. V&A Dundee provides a place of inspiration, discovery and learning through its mission to enrich lives through design. Designed by renowned award-winning Japanese architects Kengo Kuma & Associates, this is Kuma's first building in the UK. Kuma's vision is that it will be a welcoming space for everyone to visit, enjoy and socialise in – a 'living room for the city' – and a way of reconnecting the city to its historic River Tay waterfront.

Market: Books in this series are bought by visitors and locals alike to give as gifts or to keep for their own enjoyment. They are also helpful to those planning a visit as the book leads the reader on a geographical tour of the area. To visitors, they are a great reminder of a visit, while local people buy them to send to friends and family to show off where they live.
Author: Colin Nutt has worked in book publishing for over 40 years and has written/compiled more than 50 books in this and other series. He lives in Elgin.
