About Us
We are Colin and Eithne Nutt and we live and work in Elgin. Colin is the main photographer and author and Eithne has co-authored a few of our books and is an enthusiastic contributor to the photo library. Over the years, our job has become both a massive blessing and an overwhelming task for two people well into our latter years and doing everything ourselves. We would not want to swap what we do for any other kind of occupation and, on a good day, can have a huge number of photographs to edit, catalogue, name – and then the joy of the slideshow!
We love our country and we are passionate about capturing its astonishing variety. We have photographed the whole of the country from end to end, including 66 of Scotland's islands to date and, by 2014, had published 'a book for every part of Scotland' – along with a few other 'themed' books since then in the acclaimed Picturing Scotland series.
We have also published a lovely coffee-table book about the famous Bottlenose dolphins of the Moray Firth written and illustrated by Charlie Phillips, who monitors them for Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society. His photographs and intimate commentary are both illuminating and beautiful. Excitingly, the book, On a Rising Tide, went on to win an award.
In 2020, we began a new innovation – In-Camera Books. The first two are a close look at the towns and villages of Elgin and Aberfeldy & Kenmore.
